Found an ad on Craigslist for a 1990 Dodge Omni for $500. Ad says "runs great,needs some work." This is one of the first running cars I've seen in my area for $500. I want it as a second car, one I could screw with and if it goes wrong, scrap it for a little loss. How bad of an idea is this? !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

A 90 Omni will have Throttle Body Injection. Very easy to swap a Turbo motor and electronics into.

They were still making the Omni in 1990? Wow. That car was outdated by the 1984.

1990 was the last year of it! And it did have a good run! Parts should be available considering its all from K-cars, right??

If it was a Shelby version I would say do it in a hearbeat.

But assuming it's a beat-ass regular version, no. You couldn't pay me $500 to take it. I still have bad memories of driving similar vintage Ford Escorts and I can't imagine the Horizon was better.
